About ExatheistFriend.org

I'm a retired editor living in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I've created this website in order to point others to outstanding resources that it took me a long time to hunt down on my own.

Starting when I became an atheist as a teenager, and continuing for about 30 years, I thought there wasn't any good evidence for God's existence or Christianity. I was aware that highly intelligent, knowledgeable people were among the believers, but I assumed they had taken some kind of leap of faith.

In my late 40's, however, I learned there was a large body of evidence and argumentation that Christian intellectuals put forward for the truth of their beliefs. And if there was a chance Christianity was true, I wanted to know.

In order to really find out, I needed to locate the best evidence and arguments and give them a fair hearing. But it was far from obvious to me who the most solid and articulate Christian apologists were and which of their presentations were strongest.

It took a good deal of time and energy to find those things out. I wish I’d known someone who had gone through that process before me, an “exatheist friend” who could have pointed me to the materials he considered most worthwhile. I’ve created this website in hopes of being such a friend to others.

Feel free to drop me a line with any thoughts or questions!

BTW, I plan to add a fuller account of my personal story to the site's menu before long. It will include sharing some of the facts and insights that I consider most powerful for removing obstacles to belief.

P.S. This website is an effort of my own unconnected with any particular church or other organization.
